This chair is the third functional sculpture in his series, where sculpture and furniture become one. Inspired by the form of a bowl, its embracing shape recalls hands gently cupped together—a gesture associated with care, hope, and quiet contemplation. The chair is designed to cradle rather than simply support, offering a sense of calm within the rhythms of everyday life. Finished in light blue, it reflects serenity and stillness, transforming a familiar household object into a sculptural space for rest, reflection, and presence.

PoOi is a Malaysian artist from Negeri Sembilan with over 22 years of experience. Drawing on his carpentry heritage, he creates wood-based and fiberglass sculptures exploring depth, harmony, and formalistic forms. His works reveal layers beneath mesmerizing surfaces, blending pop culture with Art Deco elegance. Inspired by flowing shapes and organic motifs, PoOi’s art reflects the complexity of identity and the dynamic essence hidden within simplicity.
