The concept draws from previous works using the “window” (blocking) idea, representing private spaces. Here, the mirror becomes the central subject, engaging viewers standing before it in self-reflection. The varying column sizes symbolize personal spaces unified within a single frame. Surrounding natural elements create contrasting dimensions with the mirror, emphasizing its focus. This work invites interaction, blending private introspection with environmental harmony, offering an engaging, multidimensional experience for the audience.

 

Designer

Syahmi Jamaluddin, known for his expertise in mixed-media painting and printmaking techniques, brings his artistic sensibility to the design of this mirror. Leveraging his mastery of image transfer, silkscreen printing, and layering, Syahmi transforms his art into a functional art piece. The design incorporates repetitive patterns and layered textures, hallmarks of his artistic practice, creating depth and narrative. By carefully selecting colors to evoke specific moods—whether dark, bright, or earthy—Syahmi infuses the functional piece of art with his reflective and emotive storytelling.
